Review of Beyond Blogging

When she released her ebook ‘Beyond Blogging’ last year, I immediately snapped it up. Deb has the authority that many new bloggers don’t – years of experience with blogging, and helping others find work through her Freelance Writing Gigs blog network.

Despite being 25 pages long, the ebook is jam packed full of useful information. She separates her advice into four chapters.

• Chapter 1: Blogging for dollars.
• Chapter 2: Blogging Skills
• Chapter 3: Where Your Blogging Skills Can Take You
• Chapter 4: Where and how to find blogging jobs?

The later chapters are a must read for those who are confused about how to find blogging jobs and what skills they need to develop.

This is the type of ebook that cuts down on the crap out there and gives bloggers ways of creating a viable income.

Who is it for?

Much of the information will be second nature to those who have been reading Problogger for some time. An example is the strategy presented in the first chapter, Blogging For Dollars:

• Establish yourself as an expert
• Monetize your blogs
• Blog for networks
• Blogging for clients
• Blogging for business

As such, I wouldn’t recommend it to people who had been blogging for sometime and was aware of the potential of blogging as an income source.

This ebook is targeted towards those who have heard about about earning an income through blogging and want to learn the options. Its designed to get you thinking about turning your blogging into a career, rather than a hobby.

Would I recommend it?

If you have good research skills, this book is unnecessary. Most of the information is easily found if you know where to look.

Despite this, I would highly recommend it to those who are in the early stages of blogging. Deb applies her knowledge and experience to the examples, and provides the information needed to decide whether to pursue income streams. I had been blogging for two years before purchasing this ebook. Some of jobs she listed were ones I hadn’t even thought of, such as a researcher or traffic strategist.

You wont get step by step plans for taking your work Beyond Blogging. You will, however, have your eyes opened to many new opportunities. At just $9.95, this ebook is a bargain.
