Review of Working For Yourself - A Chris Guillebeau Product
3 Aug
How Chris Guillebeau is taking the world by storm.
Chris Guillebeau is amazing. He has travelled to over 100 countries. He has been featured in many top publications, including The New York Times and Lifehacker.
His content is syndicated in multiple mediums. He has a book deal. Oh, and he's released several Unconventional Guides to teach you how to take your community by storm.
This is the first product he has released about business; a basic guide to Working For Yourself.
What type of information does this product contain?
This product is 54 pages long, but has two columns. That means ittechnically has 100+ pages. 100 pages of beautiful layout and quality information. He separates the information into key three areas:
- Strategy
- Tactics
- Putting it all together
Strategy
This section focuses on changing your working mindset. He discusses:
- Multiple streams of income.
- Entreprenuership
- Keeping all the balls in the year
This is by no means comprehensive - but it will help you understand the tactics he discusses later. It is however very useful at rapidly getting you used to the idea of working for yourself.
Tactics
In addition to provide information about his journey, Chris also talks about the following methods of earning an income.
- Building an information portal
- Blogging
- Affiliate income
- Building a membership site
- Earning through ebay
- Photography
These are just some of the methods he discusses, while providing his unique isights and tales from his experiences.
Putting it all together.
Chris covers the tiny details that many other product creators avoid. He talks about:
- Getting paid
- Creating a launch event
- Scaling up.
There are many more facets of working for yourself, but I'm sure Chris will be releasing many more information products.
Who would find it most useful?
Experienced bloggers and internet marketers may not get that much out of it. Even though it was fascinating, I felt like I knew a lot about it. I did get a lot out of his personal insights.
I'd recommend it to
- new bloggers and people who are willing to take a long term approach
- People wanting to get another insight into Chris
- Those wishing to see how a quality information product is presenting
- Those who can pick up a random tip and apply it to their situation.
This one of my favourite information products, and one that gives you a solid overview of many concepts. I highly recommend it.
If you want the kick arse information that I don’t provide elsewhere, sign up for my Blog Networking Tip newsletter. You’ll get the secrets I don’t share on the blog plus exclusive resources and recommendations. It's kinda awesome.
